Pupils have helped design and spray paint an ‘inspirational’ mural at their school to the delight of their art teacher.
The 25 foot design at Rushcroft Foundation School in Rushcroft Road, Chingford was completed with the help of Forest Recycling Project and Global Street Art's Colour the Capital project which aims brighten up and enrich community areas whilst sustaining the environment.
Street Artists, Scott Irving and Nik Vaughn spent a day with the students sharing skills and developing the mural which features the name of the school and William Morris inspired patterns.
Head of art Alison Stirling said: “The two artists worked together to create a collaborative opportunity for the students to express their artistic talent.
“The mural has transformed the playground and inspired students to get more involved with visual arts.
“I am enormously impressed by the artists and proud of what our highly talented students managed to achieve in a day.”
