The secret society which allocates funds collected by the National Lottery is an unelected quango appointed by some Government department and should be brought to account.
The latest example of delays in funding a worthwhile project, the Victorian bandstand on the Brighton seafront, shows how out of touch this body is.
The summer season will again pass before funds are made available for this project and the delay is totally unacceptable. The reason I buy a lottery ticket is to help restore our historical heritage.
