I fully agree with Mr R Webber, (Letters, April 19). Why should we have to pay to use a public convenience? I have ulcerative colitis and this means I may need the toilet very quickly.
I may not have 20p on me when I need it most.
I know I am not alone in that there are so many other people with the same medical condition.
Becoming a member of the National Association for Colitis and Crohn's disease was the best thing I did, as with the membership you get a "can't wait card" which explains your condition and that you need to use a toilet urgently.
I believe it would be useful if people with these cards were somehow able to use them in any toilets that charge a fee. Although, on the whole, I feel all plans to make toilets charge you to "spend a penny" should be scrapped.
