World-renowned pianist Andras Schiff turns his considerable talents to a special recital, bringing his own unique variety of classical brilliance to Bach's Six English Suites.
Born in Hungary in 1953, Schiff is one of the best known interpreters of Bach, Schubert and Schuman, and more recently has begun to record and perform in recital the complete piano sonatas of Beethoven.
Gill says: "Schiff is the most amazing pianist and completely dedicated to music written for the piano. In particular, he tends to focus his attentions on the earlier composers and music of the classical period - the late 1700s and 1800s."
Schiff, who moved to London to further his musical studies and has been a British citizen since 2001, will be playing Bach for the whole afternoon, bringing authority, passion and wit to the pieces.
Gill adds: "A fantastic event not to be missed.
If you like Bach this will be the most perfect afternoon - prepare to be transported."
