A soup run for homeless people will continue despite an arson attack at a day centre where the food is prepared.
Three rooms at St Anne's Day Centre at the Fitzherbert Centre in Upper Bedford Street, Kemp Town, Brighton were badly burned during the blaze on Monday night.
Services inside the centre were cancelled until further notice, although staff and volunteers are hoping to offer sandwiches at the door as soon as possible.
Meanwhile the Brighton Soup Run will take place as normal every weekday evening at the Peace Statue, Hove Lawns, Hove at 7pm and every evening in Marine Drive, Brighton at 8pm.
Patrick Wallace, committee chairman for the run, said: "I have visited the site, and it is a heartbreaking scene.
"The actual kitchens are undamaged, and the lock on the front door has been repaired so that it can be used from both sides as normal.
"I would like all soup runners to be aware that their services will be required more than ever - hot soup or tea plus bread to be available to anyone who asks for it, and perhaps more importantly a friendly face and a sympathetic ear."
Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact Brighton CID on 0845 60 70 999 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
