Bus fares are being slashed for young people in a bid to encourage greater use of public transport.
From September 16 to 19-year-olds living in West Sussex and in full time education, will see fares reduced by half.
Fares for children from five to 16 years old will also see big reductions.
The concessions will apply seven days a week and are being introduced via a new three in one "Citizencard".
West Sussex county council leader Henry Smith said: "The driving force behind this scheme were our young people, who told us that transport was a major issue.
"We estimate that the card will generate around 800,000 extra bus journeys a year, which means fewer car journeys.
"But, it also has the potential to help the household budget for families because we all know that many mums and dads are the ones who fork out for their children's bus fares."
Details of how to apply for a card are being sent to all schools during May.
