In response to Andy Richards (Letters, April 30), can I make it clear that as the Labour councillor for Hangleton and Knoll I have always defended council housing in the 34 years I have been a councillor. Indeed I followed my father, Councillor Stan Fitch, who was well known for his defence of council housing.
I am pleased to be standing with Tony Meadows and Eddy Sears, who also share the view that we will defend council housing and that's why it is on our posters. It is well known that in Hangleton and Knoll it is a two-horse race between Labour and the Conservatives and it will be up to the electors to decide who they trust most to defend council housing.
Brian Fitch
Labour councillor,
Hangleton and Knoll
