A £5,000 copper phoenix has been stolen from a listed elevator in Brighton.
Builders working on the lift above the Concorde II club on Madeira Drive noticed a phoenix was missing. A second phoenix appears to have been unscrewed.
The second one was not taken. A police spokeswoman said the phoenix is very heavy and would have required two people to carry it.
