Union members will hold a one-day strike today.
Members of the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) that represents civil servants has organised the strike followed by a two week overtime ban.
Customs officers at all ports across Sussex and at Gatwick will be joined by VAT and Income Tax inspectors, immigration officers, Job Centre and benefits staff, coastguards and transport officials.
The strike is part of a national action designed to draw attention to the Government's plan to cut more than 100,000 civil service posts.
