So the whole of Brighton and Hove appears to need residents' permits for parking.
It does make me wonder: all those residents with their permits, when they visit their friends or family or carry out their normal business elsewhere, where do they park?
Outside someone else's home or business? Or do they travel everywhere by public transport - in which case why do they need a car and a parking permit?
It seems to have been forgotten that car owners already pay for the privilege of owning a car with road tax, which is supposed to fund roads, and a very high tax on fuel.
Cars will never be given up until public transport is subsidised enough to make it worthwhile using - park-and-ride is more expensive than parking in Churchill Square for two hours and travelling to London costs £64 return for two people.
