During the past year Brighton's creative schmooze-fest has attracted the likes Gladiator screenwriter William Nicholson and Radio 1's Rob da Bank.
Now Space celebrates its first year with a line-up of speakers that include Squeeze singer Chris Difford. The Brighton-based singer/songwriter was responsible for classic hits such as Cool for Cats and Up the Junction. He's worked with Elvis Costello, John Cale and Jools Holland, and has written for Elton John, Lisa Stansfield and Wet Wet Wet. He'll be talking about life as a solo artist and no doubt plugging the soonto- be-released Squeeze best-of album, Essential Squeeze, and the band's tour later this year.
Also giving good chat is Alastair Reid, MD of Red Design. The much-acclaimed Brighton based Red Design made its name by producing award-winning graphic designs for the music industry.
Now the company also dabbles in music videos and commercials. Red Design's clients have included MTV, Levi, Brighton & Hove Council, Penguin Books and BBC Radio 1.
If all that and a piece of free birthday cake isn't enough to keep you happy, there are more big names next month.
Coming up are successful television comedy producer, John Lloyd (Blackadder, Not the Nine o'Clock News), comedian Stewart Lee (Jerry Springer-The Opera writer), and Jeff Wayne (the man who made the musical version of HG Well's The War of the Worlds), among others.
- Starts 7.30pm, tickets £5/£3
