In response to the grandfather of the young lady who was killed in the dreadful accident at Selmeston who says those who don't want a dual carriagway there have "blood on their hands" (The Argus, April 25), I must point out that although no one knows the cause of this accident and while of course we all can imagine how the family of those killed or maimed in accidents on our roads must feel, all accidents are caused by someone - it is never the road at fault.
I'm so sorry that this tragedy happened, but the fact is many accidents happen when someone is driving too fast and not paying enough attention to the road.
The standard of driving is going from bad to worse - people are just in far too much of a hurry these days and many are rude and discourteous on our roads.
