The verdict over whether it was right to close a historic pier is expected today.
Ravenclaw, the company which owns Hastings Pier, appeared alongside Boss Management, who were in charge of the day-to-day running, at Lewes Crown Court this week.
Both businesses were appealing against the decision by Hastings Borough Council last June 16 to close the 130-year-old structure.
The council used its emergency powers under the Health and Safety Act after engineers said it was in danger of imminent collapse.
The case has been adjourned until 10am today.
A decision is expected although the council have not ruled out another adjournment.
