Volunteers are needed to help save the lives of others.
Community responder teams in Peacehaven and Telscombe Cliffs are looking for more people to sign up to the schemes.
Responders are trained to provide first aid in emergencies, including using a defibrilator to kick-start a heart, on behalf of South East Coast Ambulance Service.
They are often literally just around the corner and able to get to a patient quickly and start giving treatment until an ambulance crew arrives.
A meeting is being held at Telscombe civic centre in South Coast Road, Telscombe Cliffs, on Tuesday (may 1) at 7.30pm.
Members of the existing responder scheme and ambulance staff will be there to answer questions and explain more about the role of responders.
