Brighton and Hove City Council's two most important water features at Preston Park and Queen's Park are in a deplorable condition.
Stagnant because the waterfall pumps have not worked for ages, they are full of debris and discarded rubbish. They also remain virtually blocked with pond weed and stink like sewage works.
There are no tadpoles this year because frogs cannot survive in these conditions.
