An online quiz about Brighton and Hove has attracted worldwide interest with entries as far a field as Kazakhstan and Kuwait.
The Big Brighton Quiz was launched to celebrate the opening of the city's new visitor information centre next door to the Royal Pavilion in March.
The quiz asks a number of questions about the city. Anyone stuck can find answers at the new visitor centre or online at www.visitbrighton.com So far more than 3,200 replies have been sent in, from places like Canada, Japan, China, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Slovenia and Kuwait.
Council head of tourism Adam Bates said: "The quiz entries have been extraordinary. It just shows that people are seeking out information on the city in some of the most unlikely places.
"These would be very difficult to reach without the web and if it means spreading the word about Brighton and Hove to countries like Kazakhstan or China, that's great for businesses."
Residents can enter the quiz at www.visitbrighton.com or they can pick up an entry form at the visitor information centre.
The competition closes on May 31 with 30 prizes on offer to entrants.
