It was a brilliant Easter weekend with warm sunshine which beckoned many visitors to Brighton and Hove.
Many of them sunbathed on the beaches, while for others it was a stroll along the promenade.
When it was time for them to rest they were no doubt disappointed to see that no action has been taken by Brighton and Hove City Council to clean and paint the ancient, rusty cast-iron seats, which should have been replaced decades ago.
Visitors were seen sitting in a decrepit shelter with missing panels. Other South Coast resorts would never present such degrading street furniture to visitors in the holiday season.
Meanwhile Southern Water is carrying out works outside the council office facing Kingsway.
But are residents of the aptlynamed Grand Avenue aware they will be left with a very large control box on what was once a green lawn in front of this civic building?
