An MP wore a red rose in his lapel to mark St George's Day in the House of Commons as he questioned ministers in his role as Shadow Pensions Minister.
Nigel Waterson, whose constituency is Eastbourne, said: "I think we English should mark St George's Day.
"After all, the Welsh wear daffodils on St David's Day. I am backing a Commons campaign for a public holiday in England to celebrate our patron saint."
