Meeting artists and glimpsing inside their homes makes the annual artists open houses days something of a must for many visitors.
The Fringe's packed visual arts programme, involving both open houses and gallery and studio exhibitions, features every medium from photography and painting to jewellery and installations made from waste plastic.
And visitors can also see artists' work in dozens more locations thanks to the separate Artists Open Houses events running throughout May.
This year more than 1,000 artists will be exhibiting work at some 198 addresses. While sadly funding cuts mean the popular guided tours around homes have had to be axed, visitors can still follow individual area art trails.
Let us promote your visual arts event. Visit www.theargus.co.uk/festival for more information.
Entry to open houses is free. See www.brightonfestivalfringe.org.uk for visual arts events or www.aoh.org.uk for the full Artists Open Houses list.
