A MEDIEVAL castle has been chosen as this year’s theme for a popular maze.

Tulleys Farm in Turners Hill, near Crawley, has unveiled a giant maize maze and puzzle park just in time for the summer holidays.

The maze has grown from humble beginnings to now being one of the biggest of its kind in the UK.

Farm owner Stuart Beare said: “Many people believe that the maze is just for young families but in actual fact, we get a wide range of people of all ages coming to the maze to enjoy a more interesting walk in the countryside.

“We chose the castle theme for the maze because it transcends generations and will appeal to everyone.

“We first started with our corn maze back in 1998. It was much harder to create the maze back then and it used to take me three weeks to line everything out with bits of string.

“These days it’s much easier with GPS to mark things out over just two days. The maze gives us a fantastic way to blend agriculture, education and entertainment into one event.”
