A pregnant woman was cut out of a car after smashing into a barrier today.
Fire crews from Shoreham, Lancing and Worthing used hydraulic equipment to tear the roof off the car to rescue the woman just after 3pm.
She had ploughed into crash barriers near the Lancing Manor roundabout by the junction with Grinstead Lane, Lancing.
The woman was taken to Worthing Hospital suffering from neck injuries. Her condition was said to be stable last night.
The accident caused major tailbacks in the area for part of the afternoon.
A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: "We used some quite heavy duty gear to get her out of the car."
