I went to see the St George's Day Centenary Parade of the Scouts, Beavers, Cubs and Guides on Brighton's Level (The Argus, April 16).
As my son (now nearly 43 years old) was in the Cubs and Scouts, I thought that was the right thing to do.
In The Argus, you can see only a few people on the grassy bank.
In today's climate, the wonderful people who give time to these young people should be appreciated.
I thoroughly enjoyed the spectacle - the children nicely turned out and well behaved. Bands, always a favourite with me, were very good.
I did find the whole event very emotional but enjoyable.
The whole thing was beautifully managed. A lot of time must have been dedicated to it.
