AN MP and TV presenter joined students at the opening of a new £2 million sixth form centre.
Lewes MP Maria Caulfield and the BBC’s Natalie Graham joined staff and students past and present at the official opening of Seaford Head school’s new centre.
The £2 million centre, which can accommodate up to 350 students, boasts state-of-the-art science labs, two ICT suites fitted with iMac computers and a sixth form-only social area with a café.
The site has disabled access and facilities thanks to the Keith Baker Trust and a reliable fast IT link thanks to The Southover Manor Trust.
Students will also be able to apply for a travel bursary thanks to the generous legacy left by former head of sixth form Jerry Adams
Helen Key, acting headteacher, said: “I am delighted to this new is centre is open. The new facilities will provide a wonderful learning environment for our young adults as well as a social area for them to enjoy.”
