Three people were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a collision on a major coastal road.
A man from Gloucestershire and a couple from Brighton had to be carried from their vehicles by paramedics after the crash at 10.45am today on Marine Drive outside the Roedean miniature golf course in Brighton.
The two cars, a Mazda and a Vauxhall Cavalier, collided as they were travelling in the direction of Rottingdean.
Sussex Police said the man, aged 57, had suffered serious head injuries but was conscious and talking when he was removed from the car.
A force spokeswoman said the couple had each suffered neck and spinal injuries.
All three were treated on the scene by South East Coast Ambulance Service before being taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
