Break times are about to become a lot healthier at one junior school.
Pupils at Downs Juniors, in Rugby Road, Brighton, tucked into a selection of fresh fruit today as a new healthy snacks trolley did the rounds for the first time.
The cart, which will carry fresh juices as well as whole fruit costing less than 50p, will be wheeled around the school twice a week to give the youngsters a healthier alternative to the usual junk food snacks.
Teaching assistant Jane Johnson, who has set up the trolley, said: "We are all aware of how important healthy living is now. Schools have an important part to play in helping it happen."
Pupils tried out exotic fruits including papayas, pomegranates and mangoes as the trolley made its first appearance, loaded with goods donated by nearby Sainsburys supermarket in Lewes Road, Brighton.
