A teenager was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury after an incident at a secondary school.
The girl was badly hurt at The Cavendish School in Eldon Road, Eastbourne, at 3pm today.
She received treatment for an hour from two ambulance crews before she could be moved to Eastbourne District General Hospital.
Paramedics gave first aid on sports fields at the rear of the school. A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said it believed the injury was sports-related.
The school refused to comment on what had happened.
