Further to MP David Lepper's letter about "chuggers" (Letters, April 12), it is not the smaller charities these people are involved with. It is the large ones such as Oxfam, Age Concern, etc.
These charities advertise for a fund raising manager on a salary of £30,000 and above, Some get paid more than £75,000.
What do these managers do if they have to employ these aggressive people?
The trouble is these people do not have to have any experience, have no training and are let loose on the general public.
I am extremely pleased David Lepper has given us a telephone number and website address to complain about these idiots.
Someone somewhere is getting very rich from these people. My advice to anyone is don't sign up to anything. Give your money to The Argus Appeal. At least we know every penny raised goes to a good cause.
