Now this development has been given approval to go ahead it seems a time to consider a more appropriate 21st century name rather than King Alfred, which was taken from the Royal Navy shore establishment HMS King Alfred during the Second World War.
I know the architect suggested the project might remind one of Edwardian ladies walking along the promenade but may I suggest the new development could be named Flytip Towers (bent cans and coloured cardboard) or, failing that, Hamilton Folly for obvious reasons.
