Some people might have thought Andy Carr was hopping mad when he tried this high-flying stunt.

The IT consultant from Burgess Hill became the first person ever to attempt a parachute drop riding a Space Hopper.

His acrobatic leap among the clouds will raise £1,000 for the Orchid Cancer Appeal, as part of the Bounce Your Balls For Cancer campaign.

Andy, 42, made his historic hop out of a hot air balloon on Good Friday, 5,000ft above Figueres, in Northern Spain.

Glen Poole, founder of the campaign, said afterwards: "It was a super jump.

"I'm absolutely delighted he'd taken his Space Hopper by the horns and done his bit to raise money for testicular cancer."

Glen, from Hurstpierpoint, is now organising another world record attempt - for the most people bouncing on Space Hoppers at any one time.

He is hoping to break the previous record of 551 people in Hove Lawns, on Monday, May 28, at noon.

Anyone wishing to take part, should call the Brighton Dome box office on 01273 709709.
