Well done to Edward Cope, in his battle to gain pensions for servicemen, who served between 1949 and 1975 (The Argus, April 6).

It is about time the Government sat up and took notice.

Like Mr Cope, I served in the Army, from 1964 to 1973, serving in Libya, Germany and the UK as a chef corporal, and strongly believe that for time served, we should receive a pension.

None of us are getting any younger so come on politicians, sit up and take notice.
