As Brighton and Hove City Council has impressed the Government with improvements being made to local public transport facilities and has been granted £5.5 million for further improvements, I would like to make a suggestion.
The Clock Tower in Brighton should be resited to the entrance of the now defunct West Pier.
If the Chinese can move the MG Rover factory lock, stock and barrel from England to China, then the council can move the Clock Tower.
If Roger French, managing director of the Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company, anticipates running express bus services along the seafront to Brighton Station via Queen's Road, then the bottleneck between Queen's Road and West Street should be eliminated.
When the roadworks are completed, out-of-town bus services using London Road and Lewes Road should stop in West Street, thus easing the congestion at Churchill Square.
