I have recently spent two weeks in the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and feel compelled to write this letter in answer to all the criticism about the hospital.

From the moment I rang for an ambulance right through to my discharge from Donald Hall ward, I could not have had better treatment.

I was shown warmth and kindness by everyone.

How those nurses do a 12-hour shift and remain so cheerful amazes me.

You can feel the compassion when you see nurses cry after they unfortunately lose a patient. It really hits home how kind they are.

As for the food, it was very good.

All I can give all the staff, especially those on Donald Hall ward, is my humble thanks.
