I write as a humble seagull, having picked up a piece of paper on the beach with some comments from a David Wilson headed "Are seagulls making our lives a misery"
(Letters, March 28).
This man doesn't seem to realise how much humans are making seagulls' lives a misery - and those of the other creatures which live here. He seems to think people own the planet. Well, they don't.
Once, we seagulls had this whole area to ourselves. Life was so much better then. A lot of bad things have happened since people arrived. One of the worst is the number of fish in the sea has dropped dramatically.
We have tried to adapt to the loss of fish by eating the leftovers of the people. But for some reason this seems to make them really angry.
This place is by the sea and we're seagulls so we're not going to leave. Perhaps you can pass that message on to Mr David Wilson.
