HOVE SEAFRONT
HOVE seafront has been given a slight makeover since the 1980s with a new toilet block taking pride of place on the promenade.
The new toilets are lending a hand to bursting beachgoers and lawn-users eager for the lavatory.
The rest of the seafront has not changed much with the famous beach huts still standing by the seaside.
COURTENAY TERRACE, HOVE
THESE properties have been rejuvenated over the past 20 years with a rather fetching lick of paint.
Courtenay Terrace in Hove has been given a new look since our first picture of the seafront street was taken back in 1988.
The cars at outside people’s homes certainly look a different with the simple runners being replaced with a BMW and a Porsche.
BOUNDARY ROAD, HOVE
THE shops along this street have certainly changed in the last two decades.
The Clover clothing store has made way for a new tattoo studio and Colliers has moved away to be replaced by an Indian takeaway.
Since 1987 Boundary Road in Hove has very much got a new look.
PALMEIRA SQUARE, HOVE
THE jury is out on whether the flowers in Palmeira Square in Hove are better now than 22 years ago.
Vicki Couchman took the shot, left, in 1993 and we took the latest shot. The buildings still look as impressive as they did in the 1990s.
Back then we can see a man enjoying the square by taking a seat.
The coach on the right gives away the age of the picture against someone driving a 4x4 in the new photo.
KINGSWAY, HOVE
Not a lot has changed in this section of the Kingsway in Hove since the first picture was taken in 1987.
The main differences are the addition of a bus stop and the road sign has been moved along a bit.
The first house has also changed colour and different fencing has been installed.
