The new Brighton Laines Market under Brighton station arches at the top of Trafalgar Street was forced to scrap all their newly printed flyers under the threat of a boycott.
There was a complaint by the North Laine Community Association that the use of the word "Laines" was too "confusing" : it is said that that local group would advise potential shoppers not to buy anything from the several sellers in the market.
The name has now been scrapped.....the censorial history militia won.
