I applaud your newspaper for publishing a positive story about the work of Regen and young people in Peacehaven, East Saltdean and Telscombe Cliffs (The Argus, March 22).
It is essential the wider public understands the issues surrounding young people and the need to provide constructive activities for them. So well done.
However, I would like to correct an error which wasn't, as I understand it, in the original article submitted by Councillor Elizabeth Lee.
The same mistake appeared in your article which quoted me regarding the Newhaven incinerator (The Argus, March 24).
In both pieces, I was described as the leader of Lewes District Council. I am in fact the chair.
Councillor Ann De Vecchi is the leader. Hers is a political role, whereas mine is civic.
Basically, I'm the Queen to her Prime Minister.
I would also like to add that my work for Regen as chair of the youth action team, which set up the youth listings magazine Zero Degrees, and Random Events, providing monthly entertainment for young people, is undertaken in my role as the Telscombe Town Council representative.
It's important to my council that this is known, as many people wonder what town councils do.
It isn't all grass verges and planning. Some councillors do huge amounts of community work on top of everyday council work, all on a voluntary basis.
