Save Omar campaigners wore orange boiler suits and black hoods to publicise a benefit gig for the prisoner.
Four protesters dressed in the Guantanamo Bay jail uniform to hand out leaflets in North Laine, Brighton yesterday.
They were publicising a concert in Omar's name tomorrow at the Hobgoblin in York Place, Brighton.
Omar Deghayes, a former Brighton resident, has been held without charge or trial in the US camp in Cuba since 2002.
Protester Dennis Hickson, 47, from Seven Dials, said: "We were trying to raise awareness that Omar is a local man in Guantanamo Bay and he's sort of in limbo."
Money raised will go to the Save Omar fund. Entry costs £3. Bands play from 7.30pm to 10.30pm and the bar closes at 1am.
