The Duke of Yorks Picturehouse is Britain's oldest working cinema, showing films continuously since 1910. A Grade II-listed building, the venue is a popular choice for corporate events, product launches, film premieres, conferences, charity events, university/school screenings, parties and staff outings, as well as birthday and anniversary screenings.
The auditorium can seat up to 327 and includes 250 seats in the stalls, comfortable chairs and a a balcony with rare cinema-style seating.
The fully-licensed, nonsmoking building has a bar, which serves espresso drinks, spirits, wine, premium beers and organic and home-made cakes and snacks. The bar can fit up to 30-40 people, including the outdoor balcony.
The beautiful Edwardian architecture includes the now famous can-can dancer's legs, which sit on the roof.
The cinema offers projection facilities which support 35mm film, DVD, VHS, BetaSP formats, and a digital projector which provides outstanding sound and image quality. A stage in front of the screen is ideal for presentations.
Above all, The Duke of Yorks is dynamic, flexible and can take on any request.
