Graham Sheppard, 55, of Selbourne Road, Hove, pleaded guilty to running a red light on the A23, Preston Road in Brighton. He was fined £90, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and three points were added to his licence.
Daniel Johnston, 23, of Davigdor Road, Hove, pleaded guilty to stealing a bank card and subsequent cash to the value of £290 on August 1. He also pleaded guilty to dishonestly making a false representation, namely using someone else’s bank card to make a gain for himself on September 1. He was jailed for two weeks.
David McLuskey, 49,of Clarke Court, Walsingham Road, Hove, pleaded guilty to assaulting a constable doing her duty. Fined £73 plus a £20 victim surcharge and £27 costs.
Lisa Joanne Hollings, 32, of Tisbury Road, Hove, pleaded guilty to stealing jewellery, value unknown. Fined £37 plus a £60 victim surcharge and £40 costs.
Dawn Joanna Harding, 48, of Sheridan Terrace, Hove, was found guilty of two counts of assault by beating, and one of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour. Ordered to carry out 140 hours’ unpaid work, pay £50 compensation, £60 victim surcharge and £200 costs.
Steven Welch, 47, of Harmsworth Crescent, Hove, pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent. Jailed for 8 weeks suspended for 12 months. Ordered to have 12 months’ alcohol dependency treatment. Given a restraining order, ordered to pay £80 compensation and £85 costs.
Dean Briant, 44, of Harmsworth Crescent, Hove, pleaded guilty to driving without insurance and driving without a licence. Fined £183 plus a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 24 months.
Mertol Ciplak, 36, of Church Road, Hove, was convicted in absence of speeding in a 30mph zone. Fined £400 plus a £40 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Licence endorsed with six points.
