James David Danks, 38, of Clifton Street, Brighton, pleaded guilty to stealing children’s clothing, worth £190.92, from Toby Tiger’s Store in Gardner Street, Brighton and admitted committing the offences while on conditional discharge for three other shoplifting offences. Ordered to have drug rehabilitation treatment for six months, be supervised for 12 months and pay a £60 victim surcharge.
Gary Thomas Divall, 53, of Oriental Place, Brighton, pleaded guilty to causing approximately £240 worth of damage to a taxi, five counts of assault by beating, three counts of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour and also assaulting a police constable doing his duty. Jailed for 16 weeks.
Preston Harris, 20, of London Road, Brighton, pleaded guilty to stealing a £14.99 bottle of whiskey from Aldi in London Road, Brighton. He was given a community order and he was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60.
Bryan Smith, 46, of High Street, Brighton, was found guilty of two counts of assault. Given a 12-month conditional discharge, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £200 costs.
Patrick James Bambrick, 35, of Oriental Place, Brighton, pleaded guilty to stealing alcohol worth £7.24 from the Co-operative in Western Road, Hove. He was fined £30 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £20.
Peter John Corben, 40, of Donald Hall Road, Brighton, pleaded guilty to drink-driving. Fined £110 plus a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 12 months, to be reduced by three months if he completes an approved driving course.
Anthony Roman, 44, of Arundel Road, Brighton, admitted failing to comply with a community order by failing to turn up for unpaid work twice. Twenty hours added to original 40-hour requirement.
Stephen Thomas Neyland-Thompson, 57, of St Paul’s Street, Brighton, pleaded guilty to harassing a woman by posting naked pictures of her online on two websites. Jailed for 12 weeks suspended for 12 months, ordered to do 80 hours of community service, given a restraining order, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80 and costs of £85.
Stephen James Prince, 37, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to begging on Air Street, Brighton on October 17 and obstructing a constable doing his duty. Fined a total of £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.
Isabel Veronica Webb, 43, of Park Crescent, Brighton, pleaded guilty to drink-driving. Ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 24 months, reduced by 24 weeks if she completes an approved driving course.
Anthony Robert Rodgers, 50, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to stealing perfume worth £102.49 from Boots in North Street, Brighton on November 7 and assault by beating at the same location on the same date. Was a serving prisoner on day release. Jailed for a total of six weeks concurrent to his existing sentence and ordered to pay compensation of £50.
Ian Henry Bernard Hughes, 40, of Grand Parade, Brighton, pleaded guilty to drunk and disorderly behaviour in Trafalgar Street, Brighton on September 8 and failing to answer bail. Fined a total of £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.
Paul Shane Jones, 33, of North Road, Brighton, pleaded guilty to stealing a black mobile phone and a wallet containing £25 cash and cards in Surrey Street, Brighton on September 10, stealing six packs of Gillette razors worth £83.84 from Waitrose in Western Road, Brighton on September 10 and failing to answer bail. Ordered to have alcohol dependency treatment for 12 months and pay £20 compensation.
