Steven Westgate, 47, of Annington Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to speeding in a Subaru on the A259 Black Rock, Brighton, a 30mph zone, on December 13, 2013. Fined £443 and ordered to pay a £43 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Licence endorsed with four points.
Hassan Ayad Alaani, 22, of Princes Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Fiat on Upperton Road, Eastbourne without insurance. Fined £160 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Licence endorsed with six points.
Daniel James Moore, 36, of Harold Drive, Eastbourne, was convicted in his absence of driving a Ford on the A22 at Maresfield while using a mobile phone on March 4 this year. Fined £200 and ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Licence endorsed with three points.
Peter David Evans, 55, of The Colonnade Gardens, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to two charges of stealing chocolates wor th a total of £32 from WHSmiths in Seaford on May 23 and May 31. He was given a community order and ordered to pay £32 compensation and a £60 victim surcharge.
Richard Charles Cooper, 43, of Tugwell Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to harassment between October 7 and October 15 by sending excessive text messages and leaving voice messages. He was given a community order with a month curfew and was made the subject of a restraining order until May 2, 2015. He was ordered to pay victim surcharge of £60.
Russell Sandell, 33, of Sevenoaks Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to stealing an unknown amount of cash in Hunloke Avenue, Eastbourne on July 17. He also admitted breaching a 12-month suspended sentence for stealing from a shop. He was ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs, carry out 40 hours of unpaid community work and had six months added on the original eight-week suspended sentence.
Jodie King, 33, of Rockhurst Drive, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to stealing perishable food valued at £20.55 from The Co-op in Eastbourne on March 23. King also admitted breaking a bail condition on November 8. She was rebailed to be sentenced at a later date.
