Colin Vincent Edwards, 51, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to stealing clothes worth £217.91 from Zara in Churchill Square. Fined £73 plus a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Christopher Charles Levi, 28, of St James’s Street, Brighton, pleaded guilty to assault. Fined £37 plus £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Simon May, 29, of Preston Road, Brighton, pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis. Given a six-month conditional discharge plus £15 victim surcharge and £35 costs.
Roger Frederick Thomas Osgood, 68, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to breaching an anti-social behaviour order by drinking alcohol in a public place, North Street, Brighton. Fined £50 plus £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Anthony Charles Parsons, 52, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to stealing a bottle of Cimarosa Chardonnay white wine, worth £3.99, from Lidl in Arundel Road, Brighton. Fined £73 plus a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Robert Pavel Pustul, 36, of Preston Road, Brighton, pleaded guilty to drink-driving and speeding. Fined £600 plus £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 48 months.
Byron James Taylor, 27, of Howard Place, Brighton, pleaded guilty to stealing six DVDs, worth £66.94, from Sainsbury’s; 13 DVDs, worth £137.87, from Boots; three steaks, worth £16.28, from the Co-op; obstructing a PC doing his duty; stealing aftershave from Superdrug. Given a one-month curfew and ordered to have drug dependency treatment for six months. Given a 12 month supervision order.
Mark Anthony Griffiths, 34, of Providence Place, Brighton, pleaded guilty to having a four-inch knife in a public place, The Terraces in Madeira Drive. Jailed for six weeks suspended for six months. Ordered to be supervised for six months and take part in twelve “community registration” sessions. Also ordered to pay £80 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
William Christopher Murphy, 22, of The Crestway, Brighton, pleaded guilty to damaging a water cooler belonging to the YMCA in West Street, assault by beating, and damaging a door. Ordered to pay £50 compensation and £50 costs.
Marcus Phillip Nye, 21, of Haybourne Road, Brighton, pleaded guilty to possessing 2.79 grams of Class B drug mephedrone, possessing cannabis, failing to attend a follow-up assessment. Offence committed while on a conditional discharge. Given a community order to take part in ten drug intervention sessions.
Alexander Joseph Smith, 42, of New Steine Mews, Brighton, pleaded guilty to stealing meat and alcohol, worth £120.28, from Sainsbury’s; stealing meat worth £50 from Sainsbury’s on a separate occasion, and meat worth £53.70 from Co-op. Given a community order to take part in 20 drug intervention sessions. Ordered to pay £60 victim surcharge, £20 costs and £103.70 compensation.
Karen Keane, 39, of Church Place, Brighton, was found guilty of assault by beating. Discharged conditionally for 18 months, ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge and £300 costs.
