EMERGENCY services have been dealing with a tractor fire on the A27 at Shoreham.
Police and the fire service have been at the scene and it is understood the blaze has been causing congestion.
The A27 has been closed eastbound between the A283 Steyning Road junction and the A270 Upper Shoreham Road junction.
A West Sussex Frire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said the road is due to open at 10.20pm after damping down is completed.
She said: "The fire involved a tractor and a five ton hay bailer which was severely damaged."
She said the fire started accidentally and nobody was hurt.
