A PAIR of lucky Brighton residents will be jetting off to Brazil for the World Cup.
Stephen Baker and Jim Kirby are the winners of the Propellernet company’s Dream Balls prize, which rewards employees for hitting targets.
Stephen, 31, from Hove, has been a fan of the World Cup since falling in love with the competition when it was held in Italy in 1990.
And he still remembers England’s last-gasp win against Belgium.
He said: “My Dad let me stay up to watch the game and when David Platt hooked in his now famous winning volley in extra time, the roar from my Dad and his friends left an impression on me that meant I would be a football fan for life.”
After being named best small business in the UK at the Great Places to Work awards, Propellernet held its first ever Dream Balls competition.
Stephen added: “The seven-year-old me in 1990 would scarcely have believed it, but one of my biggest dreams is about to come true.
“One of my other dreams is for England to actually win the World Cup, but perhaps that is a little too greedy to hope for two dreams to come true in one year.”
The pair will fly out on Saturday to watch USA vs Ghana on Monday, then spend 12 nights in Rio De Janeiro.
