MORE than 15,000 runners have put themselves forward to take part in next year’s Brighton Marathon.
Within the eight weeks between this year’s event and Tuesday's midnight deadline, 10,500 applicants successfully applied to enter next year’s event.
With 3,800 additional charity runners, next year’s competitors will make the Brighton Marathon the 12th largest in Europe.
The number of entrants is up almost 2% on last year, even though the number of people entering other marathons around the country is declining.
