EUROPE’S largest international jousting tournament will return to Arundel Castle. The tournament offers a week of action with three jousts per day beginning on July 22.
The contest will climax on July 27 with Angela Standing, Arundel’s deputy mayor and town crier, adorning the winning knights with awards and prizes.
This year’s teams are made up of old rivals the Kingdoms of England and France and two new teams – the Burgundian Alliance and the Kingdom of Poland.
Stacy Van Dolah-Evans, event organiser, said: “As Arundel Castle’s ‘home team’, England has been represented at the tournament ever since its beginnings as an international competition in 2008.
“I’m sure the team will do its utmost to defend the team title and take victory once more.”
Prices for castle admission and the joust start from £10 for children, £22 for adults and £49 for families.
Children under five get in for free.
