THE home of Brighton and Hove Albion is playing host to a children’s charity event.
Attendees of the Children’s Local Legacy event will get the chance to hear about how children’s charities transform the lives of young people and about the importance of making a will.
The event at The American Express Community Statium is being run by Barnardo’s, and representatives from the Brighton and Hove Link Plus branch will speak at the event as well as Mo Harris, a former resident brought up in Barnardo’s.
Visitors to the event will also have the option of a free tour of the stadium.
Paul Beard, Barnardo’s regional development officer, said: “Almost half of the donations Barnardo’s receives come from the general public and are donated through wills.
“The money raised is vital to help Barnardo’s continue its work with the most vulnerable children.
“The scheme aims to make more people aware of the benefits of writing a will and, after they have made provision for loved ones, we hope they will consider a gift to Barnardo’s.”
Advice on making a will will be given by Quality Solicitors Howlett Clarke, a Brighton firm.
The Children’s Local Legacy event will start at 10.30am on June 11.
