THOUSANDS of people headed to the seafront to enjoy a glittering carnival parade.
The annual Eastbourne Sunshine Carnival once again drew in the crowds as floats, marching bands, drummers, dancers and supporters decked out in fancy dress made their way from Western Lawns to Princes Park.
Those taking part included carnival queen Charlotte White and her princess, April Horscraft, seven, the town’s Rotary clubs and Eastbourne mayor Janet Coles.
This year’s theme was Rio by the Sea, to tie in with the World Cup, and there were plenty of colourful outfits, giant footballs and England flags on show.
The event, which ended with a funfair at Princes Park, was sponsored by Legal and General Property, owner of the Eastbourne Arndale Centre.
