A fisherman is due to appear in court following a police chase.

Darren Wayne Butler, 24, of Barnets Hill, Peasmarsh, near Rye, was arrested following a police chase involving police dogs and the helicopter around the Sussex and Kent border yesterday afternoon.

He has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking, making off without payment, failing to stop for police, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and using a car without insurance.

He is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court today.
