The coastguard was kept busy with two call-outs in the space of just more than two hours on the weekend.
Shoreham RNLI sent out its inshore lifeboat on Sunday to reports of a missing three-year-old boy on Hove beach at 4pm.
Thankfully, once the lifeboat arrived on the scene the crew were told the boy had been found and reunited with his parents.
Two hours and 12 minutes later, they were called out again – this time to a kite surfer west of Shoreham Harbour who had run into trouble.
Again, once the crew arrived they were told the kite surfer had made his way safely to shore so they recovered his board and returned it to him.
